Faculty of Food Science and Technology

The Faculty of Food Science and Technology is the honored governing unit of Jiangsu Biotechnology Association, Suzhou Food Industry Association, and member of Suzhou Nutrition Society. The faculty currently has 3 teaching and researching offices, namely, Food Technology, Food Science, and Biotechnology. It currently has 5 subjects, namely, Food Processing Technology, Food and Drug Supervision and Administration, Food Nutrition and Testing, Drug Biotechnology and Drug Production Technology. At present, there are nearly 1000 students and 36 teachers and staff, including 3 provincial high-level talents, 6 professors, 15 associate professors, 5 doctors and 21 with master's degree. The faculty adheres to the concept of "safety, quality, nutrition and green" and has trained over 6000 high-quality professional technical and managerial talents, making great contribution to the development of food and biological industries in the Yangtze River Delta. The faculty currently has one national productive training base (In-depth Industry-Teaching Integration Platform for Agricultural Products Safety Inspection), and one national collaborative innovation center (Collaborative Innovation Center for Fresh Agricultural Products). The faculty was rated as "Advanced Young and Civilized Post" by Suzhou Education Union, and was rated as "Consultation Station for Food Quality and Safety" by Suzhou Radio and Television Station. In recent years, the faculty has won one second prize of Suzhou Education Teaching Achievement Award, one second prize of Jiangsu Provincial College Science and Technology Progress Award, one third prize of Suzhou Science and Technology Progress Award, one second prize of Jiangsu Provincial Teaching Achievement Award, one first prize of the 7th National Agricultural Vocational Education Teaching Achievement Award, three first prizes of National Vocational College Skills Competition, and one second prize of Jiangsu Provincial Vocational College Teaching Competition Award.
