Faculty of Environmental Engineering

The Faculty of Environmental Engineering currently has four subjects (professional directions): Environmental Monitoring and Control Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Indoor Environmental Detection and Control Technology, Ecological Agriculture Technology. Among them, Ecological Agricultural Technology is the key construction subject of the Ministry of Education. Currently, there are totally 23 full-time and part-time teachers. Among all the teachers, there are 4 professors and 8 associate professors; 4 with doctor's degree (one come from overseas), and 12 with master's degree. More than 10 teachers used to be sent to different countries, like the United States, France, Japan, South Korea, Germany and other countries, to study, train, visit and exchange. It has completed one national excellent course, two first-class excellent courses in Jiangsu Province, and four college excellent courses. It has presided over or mainly participated in more than 20 scientific research projects at the national, provincial and municipal levels, has 12 national invention patents, edited more than 10 textbooks, and published more than 60 papers in national core journals. The faculty undertook more than 100 environmental protection and agricultural social service projects.

The Faculty of Environmental Engineering has relatively advanced and integrated experimental and practical training bases inside and outside the school, including 17 experimental and practical training rooms such as microbial analysis training room, environmental monitoring training room, water pollution control training room, and modern analysis technology center equipped with large instruments and equipment such as high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, atomic absorption analyzer, etc. Those devices and equipment can meet the needs of students for experimental and practical training operation, individual skill training and comprehensive skill training of professional courses. Off-campus practical training bases have been established in enterprises and institutions such as Jiangsu United Testing Services Co., Ltd, Suzhou Baixin Environmental Detection Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Kangda Detection Technology Co., Ltd.

The Faculty of Environmental Engineering will continue to carry forward the glorious tradition of "encouraging self-improvement, cultivating trees and people" of the school. Based on the development idea of "expanding environmental engineering subjects and strengthening ecological agriculture subjects", the faculty will continuously enhance its ability in all the subjects and continuously highlight its characteristics, so that it will train more high-end technical talents for the nation's ecological environment protection, ecological agriculture development and new rural construction cause.
