The 74th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (2019) determined May 21 every year as "International Tea Day" to better mirror the economic, social and cultural value of tea. "International Tea Day" is the first international festival in agriculture successfully established by tea-producing countries primarily including China.

To make the overseas students of our college an insight into Chinese tea history and tea culture, personally perceive the beauty of tea, the beauty of tea art, and the beauty of tea history, and better promote Chinese culture, in combination with the 2nd "International Tea Day" event, the "Overseas students approached Chinese tea culture on the International Tea Day" event, sponsored by Suzhou Polytechnic Institute of Agriculture, was developed on the afternoon of June 3, and overseas students were invited to participate in the tea culture appreciation event.

The tea party invited two teachers from our university-enterprise cooperation unit Yushantang and these two teachers used the glazed tea ware and the dark-red enameled tea ware to brew Dongting Mountain Biluochun and Fuding White Peony. When these two teachers showed tea art, overseas students listened to their explanation, seriously appreciated the beauty of tea dance and tea banquet as they studied hard and took photos to preserve valuable information. After the tea art show, students could hardly wait to taste it and praised it and never thought that a handful of simple tea leaves could bring such a pure and fresh taste.

After the tea party, overseas students took their seats and listened to the lecture the Past and Present of Chinese Tea Aesthetics given by researcher Liu Feng, the global promotion ambassador of Chinese tea culture, the chief expert of China International Tea Culture Exchange Center, and the master academic leader of "Tea Aesthetics and Art Research" of Beijing Normal University.

Researcher Liu Feng pointed out that tea culture, as an important part of traditional Chinese culture, connects the world and transcends religious national borders. It's a beautiful international business card, a kind of enjoyment in life, a good medicine for health, a bond of connecting friendship and a symbol of Chinese civilization. As the "Internet" of excellent Chinese traditional culture, tea has always played an important role in the history of Chinese culture and continues to evolve. There is a long way to revive the tea culture. It's hoped that overseas students can further study the traditional Chinese tea culture in the limited time, and can bring it back to their own countries for better cultural exchange and integration.
