On October 22, our institute had video line connections with the Pointe-Noire Municipal Government of the Republic of Congo and the Suzhou Foreign Affairs Office to negotiate about the issues of promoting the construction of the Sino-Congo Local Distant Agricultural Science and Education Service Center (Zhenghe Center). The leader in charge of the Department of International Exchanges of the Pointe-Noire Municipal Government of the Republic of Congo, Congolese students of Grade 2021, Director Shen Yue of the Division of European and African Affairs of the Suzhou Foreign Affairs Office, Deputy Director Li Li of the Office of Foreign Exchanges of our institute and the staff of related departments of our institute attended the video conference which was presided over by Deputy Director Hua Jia of the Translation Center of the Suzhou Foreign Affairs Office.

First, Pointe-Noire Municipal Government of the Republic of Congo expressed welcome to the video conference organized by our institute, extended thanks to our institute for cultivating the students and agricultural technical talents for Pointe-Noire Municipal Government of the Republic of Congo, summarized the fund-raising and recent construction of the center as led by the Pointe-Noire Municipal Government of the Republic of Congo and aired expectations for next stage distant agricultural training.

Subsequently, Director Li affirmed the positive follow-up of the construction of the center by Pointe-Noire Municipal Government of the Republic of Congo in all possible aspects and raised some suggestions to further construct the center and carry out distant agricultural science and education training next stage: To establish long-acting connection mechanism and determine specified staff for the class; enhance agricultural technical training and clarify the theme of training this year; summarize the available experience and bring forth new ideas and methods of science and education training; construct the demand platform for agricultural science and technology and provide opportunities for Sino-Congo local cooperation.

Afterwards, Director Shen praised the present achievements of center construction and voiced out expectations for help with the agricultural technologies and industries for the Republic of Congo through distant agricultural science and education training. She pointed out that the construction and normalized operation of the center will become an important milestone of the construction of the Suzhou and Pointe-Noire Sister City Program and contribute to cementing Sino-Congo friendship.
