To respond to the “Belt and Road” Initiative, boost the level of serving the agricultural enterprises “going global” and set up the platform of overseas education and exchanges, during May 27-31, a delegation of five including Deputy Secretary Yin Jianghai of the Party Committee of the institute, Office Director Geng Xiaodong of the institute, Dean Jiang Bingkun of the Faculty of International Education and related staff went to Ketapang, Indonesia, unveiled the “Indonesia Agricultural Training Center of Suzhou Polytechnic Institute of Agriculture”, signed the Cooperation Agreement of Jointly Establishing the Indonesia-Suzhou Polytechnic Institute of Agriculture and visited the Indonesia Ketapang Polytechnics and Ketapang County Education Bureau.
The delegation had a field trip to the Indonesia Ketapang Modern Forest and Agricultural Eco-Industrial Park totaling an area of 5 km2. The park would attract the registration of more than 100 forest and agricultural enterprises whose gross output would be predicted to be 10 billion US dollars, with the industries in the chain of forest and agricultural industries. Our institute and Indonesia Ketapang Forest and Agricultural Ecology Co., Ltd held the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement of Jointly Establishing the Indonesia-SPIA and unveiled the “Indonesia Agricultural Training Center of Suzhou Polytechnic Institute of Agriculture”. The delegation also visited the Indonesia Ketapang Polytechnics and the Ketapang Education Bureau and made in-depth exchanges and cooperation in introducing and integrating professional courses, exchange of visits by teachers and students of the two sides and international student training.
The contract signing of the “going global” policy and the unveiling ceremony further expanded the new recruitment channel of international students in Indonesia and further affirmed the confidence and determination of the institute and enterprises in standardized and systematized overseas cultivation of local skilled talents and paved the way to serve the construction of China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative and cooperation in boosting international production capacity.
