The afternoon of January 16, 2019 bore witness to the safety education activity for full-time international students held by the Faculty of International Education in Meeting Room 306 in the Administration Building with the attendance of Police Officer Wang Yizhi of the Exit-Entry Management Division of Gusu District, Director Song Jingcheng of the Security Office of the institute, Dean Jiang Bingkun and Deputy Dean Zhang Xiaoning of the Faculty of International Education, Interpreter and Teacher Lu En of the faculty, Class Teacher Gong Ping of the international students and eight students from the Republic of Congo and Indonesia.

The safety education meeting began with Class Teacher Gong Ping’s lecture on safety during holiday, including fire safety, dormitory safety, public place safety, network safety and traffic safety. After that, Police Officer Wang Yizhi of the Exit-Entry Management Division of Gusu District, explained in detail to the international students the exit-entry management rules on visa, passport and matters violating bans. Finally, Jiang Bingkun made four requirements on the safety and holiday arrangement of the international students. He required them to strictly abide by the Chinese laws and regulations, observe Chinese disciplines and laws; respect the local customs and conventions of Suzhou, adapt to their learning and life in Suzhou as soon as possible; rigorously follow the management systems of the institute for the international students and turn to their class teacher for help the moment they encounter any problem or difficulty during their study in Suzhou.

The safety education activity offered an opportunity for the international students in our institute to get more familiar with the Chinese laws and regulations on visa and passport etc and the disciplines and regulations of our institute to lay a knowledge foundation of the laws and regulations for the international students for their better adaptation to their study and life in China.
