Agreement Scholarships and Funding Standards

International students applying for the Agreement Scholarship should meet the following conditions:
(1) Basic conditions
Applicants who are studying at the junior college level should have obtained a degree or certificate equivalent to graduation from an ordinary high school in China, and be under the age of 30.
(2) Other conditions
1. Applicants must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and have a record of actually living abroad for more than 2 years in the last 4 years (before April 30 of the year of admission) Living abroad for 9 months can be counted as one year, subject to entry and exit stamps).
2. The applicant is friendly to China and in good health.
3. Applicants must perform well, and have no truancy and other violations of school rules and regulations in the school, and no violations of laws and regulations outside the school.
4. Applicants must have excellent grades, and their grades are among the best in their grades or classes.
5. To apply for a major with Chinese as the language of instruction, the Chinese language proficiency requirement should at least reach the Level 4 level of the International Chinese Proficiency Standards, and provide relevant certificates, such as HSK Level 4 and above. For majors with foreign language as the language of instruction, applicants should have a high level of foreign language proficiency and provide a general English proficiency certificate within the validity period, such as TOEFL, IELTS and other score certificates.
6. Have not received fully funded scholarships such as Chinese government scholarships, Confucius Institute scholarships, etc.
The Department of Education will review the qualifications of the recommended applicants and issue a certificate of scholarship funding to the qualified applicants.
Applicants can check the information of universities and courses that recruit foreign students in Jiangsu through the "Study in Jiangsu website", and apply to the universities independently. When applying, they need to submit the financial aid certificate issued by the Provincial Department of Education.
All colleges and universities will evaluate the applicants for the agreement scholarship according to the admission criteria of their own scholarship students. Those who meet the criteria will be admitted first, and the admission list will be reported to the Provincial Department of Education for record.
International students who have won the agreement scholarship should be subject to the annual review of scholarship eligibility organized by the school as required. For award-winning students who fail to pass the annual review, their eligibility for scholarships will be suspended or cancelled according to regulations. Students whose scholarships have been suspended can be reinstated if they pass the following annual evaluations. For students whose scholarships have been cancelled, the school can select outstanding international students of the same grade as substitutes according to the selection method formulated by the school.
Outstanding Student Scholarship Application and Selection
The Provincial Department of Education shall, according to factors such as the scale of foreign students studying in colleges and universities in the previous year, the quality of training, and the implementation of the Jiangsu Government Scholarship to study abroad, formulate the allocation of scholarships for outstanding students studying in the Jiangsu Government Scholarship of the current year, and distribute them to relevant universities.
International students applying for the Outstanding Student Scholarship should meet the following basic conditions:
1. Full-time undergraduate students in colleges and universities;
2. Be friendly towards China, abide by the Constitution and laws, abide by the rules and regulations of the school, and pay tuition and related fees as required;
3. Honest and trustworthy, good moral character;
4. Excellent academic performance during school, outstanding social practice, learning and research ability, comprehensive quality, etc.;
5. Other conditions set by the university itself.
Colleges and universities should formulate specific selection methods for scholarships in accordance with the provisions of these Measures, and report them to the Department of Education for the record. The department in charge of foreign student education in colleges and universities specifically organizes the recommendation work.
The colleges and universities conduct on-campus selection and publicity of applicants according to their own selection methods, and report to the Provincial Department of Education for the record.
Special scholarship application and selection
Special scholarships are set by the Provincial Department of Education in accordance with the educational needs of foreign students, and announce the content of scholarship funding, funding standards, application materials and work procedures.
Applications for special scholarships shall be declared by colleges and universities in a unified manner, and experts from the Provincial Department of Education shall select and publicize them according to the specific content and requirements.
