For active expansion of the international scope of institute’s teachers and integration of international advanced school management concept, American vocational education teaching methods and intelligent teaching training was successfully held at the institute on October 10-14, 2022. It was led by the personnel office of the institute and organized by the International Cooperation and Exchange Office. The training covered topics relevant to Vocational Education Teaching Methods in the United States and Intelligent Teaching. The training course was held together with the University of California, Long Beach, and 60 teachers from 8 secondary colleges of the institute participated in the training.
Vice President Kong Tingting of the institute, Dr. Chris Swarit, Dean of the School of Continuing Education at California State University, Long Beach, and Ms. Chen Haihong, Director of International Training participated in the opening ceremony, and it was chaired by Li Li, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office.
The training was conducted in a combination of online video lessons and offline independent learning. American vocational education experts Professor Abdul Issa, Professor Penny Vail, Professor Rashton Hurley, Professor Wu Zhonghe and others were invited to conduct training focused on the comparison of vocational education in China and the United States, the application of intelligent teaching in vocational education, the strategy of using case study in vocational teaching, and the design and implementation of vocational education courses using the results-oriented education model.
Through this systematic training course, teachers have gained a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the American vocational education system and teaching methods, which will play a positive role in encouraging teachers to devote themselves to the reform and development of vocational education at our institute. This training received good feedback from all participating teachers.
